ID and Licence Requirements at Metro Vehicle Hire

Please note that ID is required when hiring any of our vehicles.

CARS and VANS

• Age 25-70
• Full licence for 2 years+
• Utility bill or bank statement dated in the last 2 months.
• Drivers own credit/debit card for £150 refundable deposit for cars.
• Credit/debit card for £200 refundable deposit for vans.
• Card holder must be present to sign for the vehicle

MINIBUSES and MPV'S

• Age 28-70
• Full licence for 2 years+
• Utility bill or bank statement dated in the last 2 months.
• Credit card only for £200 pre auth deposit.
• The main driver does not have to use their own card for payment but must supply proof that they have their own bank account.
• Card holder must be present to sign for the vehicle. 

Driving Licence

We can hire to drivers with up to 6 points in one year for speeding or minor convictions offence codes. For major convictions i.e. DR, IN, DD, TT, BA etc need to be at least 5 years from date of conviction on licence. If you are unsure please contact us before hire for clarification.

Driving Experience

Drivers must have held a full driving licence for 2 years or more. Both parts of the licence must be provided on collecting a vehicle.

Age Restictions

All drivers must be between 25 and 70 years of age except minibuses and people carriers where the minimum age is 28.
